Projektbeschreibung der*des Nominierenden
| The Humboldt-Forschungspreis is awarded to Prof. Dr. Rotislav Vladimirovich Jolos from the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research in Dubna (Russia) for his extraordinary and prominent work on theoretical nuclear physics, especially on nuclear structure and low-energetic heavy ion reactions. He developed the method of boson representations of Fermion operators which is a fundamental and essential keystone in the theory of nuclear collective excitations. He investigated the interaction between collective and single-particle states and could successfully explain important effects in the spectra of atomic nuclei, for example the parity splitting in nuclei with octupole deformations. Under his guidance an outstanding method was created to describe heavy ion fusion reactions leading to superheavy elements. This method is based on the dinuclear system concept which he recently applied with great success to the cluster structure of atomic nuclei. His planned work at the Justus-Liebig-University in Giessen is directed to studies on the dinuclear idea and will lead to a new insight in nuclear cluster phenomena. |
